Maximize your assets to minimize your liabilites

Work to perfect what’s under your control.

Instead of worrying about the things you can’t do anything about, focus on improving your assets. As a young basketball player, John Wooden was less than 6 feet tall, a disadvantage that he had no control over, but he was quick so he worked on improving his quickness and ensuring he was in the best condition possible so that late in games he’d still have a step on his competition when they began to slow.

He maximized his asset to minimize his liability.
